Students involved in the CHS Service Learning class have committed to operating a Free Store and Food Pantry on campus to meet students' hygiene, clothing, and nutrition needs in a way that is comfortable, fun, and completely free for students to access without fear of judgment. Students demonstrate citizenship by working to identify and meet their community's needs, providing support to their peers. They demonstrate responsibility through their role in the day-to-day operation of the store, including maintaining regular shopping hours, keeping track of stock, and ensuring that the store is a clean and fun place to shop.
RVR+ is a customizable programmable robot by Sphero for 1-2 middle and high school learners that teaches coding and computer science through the Sphero Edu app and advanced Python programming with the Public Sphero SKD. The RVR+ devices will be integrated into our district's Innovation Design Lab to enhance coding opportunities and facilitate cross-curricular implementation. We will integrate them into the curriculum, provide support and training, pursue ongoing development, and gather feedback and make improvements.
Students will be able to "shine" by showcasing their achievements and creativity through technology using the iPad stands. All students participate in technology-integrated learning in our Enrichment class. Through the program, students engage in a variety of schoolwide projects that incorporate video production, green screen technology, and multimedia presentations. Students collaborate on research projects that enhance literacy skills. Each grade level will have the opportunity to showcase student work digitally, displayed securely on an iPad stand for family interaction.
